The Russian infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3 is designed to transport soldiers and provide fire support - its troop compartment accommodates 5 soldiers, and the BMPs own crew consists of three more people. These vehicles are successfully used during assaults, since no other armored vehicle is capable of surpassing the BMP-3 in terms of fire density. The rotating turret is equipped with a 100 mm cannon, with the ability to launch anti-tank guided missiles, as well as a rapid-fire 30 mm automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun. Two more machine guns for firing in the direction of travel are installed in the front part of the hull. The BMP-3 accelerates along the highway to a “car” speed of 70 km/h, is capable of swimming at speeds of up to 10 km/h and firing while afloat. The BMP-3 is in service not only in Russia, but also in many other countries around the world.
